Shaw University Standout Amir Hinton Signs Deal With New York Knicks

Shaw University guard, Amir Hinton, signed a free agent deal with the new york Knicks hours after the NBA draft ended.

Amir led division 2 in scoring last year averaging 29.4 points per game. Many have likened his game to NBA great Dwyane Wade. He’s 6’5, 190 pounds, can score, handle and distribute.

The Knicks found a gem because many thought he had a chance to be a lottery pick.

The Knicks have historically had players from HBCUs on their roster. A few include Charles Oakley (Virginia Union), Kyle O’Quinn (Norfolk State) and now Amir Hinton from Shaw University.

Amir Hinton of Shaw University didn't receive any division 1 offers out of high school. Now he's leaving the division 2 HBCU after his junior year and declaring for the 2019 NBA draft. Scouts have said he is the 3rd best guard in the draft.
